About This Event

The Center for Wellbeing at ICAP 2026

We are proud to announce that Sheikha Hessa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson and Founder of The Center for Wellbeing, participated in the 31st International Congress of Applied Psychology (ICAP 2026), held in Florence, Italy, from July 21st to July 25th, 2026.

Bringing together leading psychologists, researchers, and practitioners from around the world, the congress serves as one of the foremost global platforms for advancing research and innovative practices in psychology and human wellbeing.

As part of the scientific programme, Sheikha Hessa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani presented her research, “Building and Measuring Trust Through Al Hayat Al Tayiba Scale for Global Wellbeing.”

Advancing Culturally Grounded Wellbeing Research

The research introduced the Al-Hayat Al-Tayiba Wellbeing Framework and the development of the Al-Hayat Al-Tayiba Wellbeing Instrument (HTI), a culturally grounded measure designed to assess holistic wellbeing within Middle Eastern contexts.

Developed through extensive research conducted in Qatar, the framework conceptualizes wellbeing as a multidimensional construct comprising five interconnected domains:

  • Spiritual Wellbeing

  • Emotional Wellbeing

  • Intellectual Wellbeing

  • Physical Wellbeing

  • Social Wellbeing

Together, these wellbeing pillars provide a comprehensive model of human flourishing while remaining adaptable to diverse cultural settings.

Bridging Cultural Perspectives in Wellbeing

By addressing a significant gap in culturally responsive wellbeing assessment, this research contributes to the development of more inclusive approaches to measuring and promoting wellbeing across diverse populations.

The research explores how cultivating psychological resilience and meaning in life can empower individuals and communities to flourish. It also emphasizes the importance of integrating evidence-based wellbeing practices into education, healthcare, and community development.

Strengthening International Dialogue

The Center for Wellbeing is proud of this participation, which reaffirms its continued commitment to advancing international dialogue on mental health and wellbeing, fostering cross-cultural collaboration, and promoting a holistic vision that places human wellbeing at the heart of sustainable social progress.
