The Center for Wellbeing and Hamad Bin Khalifa University Sign an MoU to Advance Research and Community Development

Doha, Qatar – August 25, 2026: The Center for Wellbeing has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), establishing a framework for collaboration in research, knowledge exchange, and community development, with a shared focus on supporting evidence-based policies and programmes in Qatar.

The agreement was signed by Prof. Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Emadi, Acting CEO of The Center for Wellbeing, and Dr. Maryam Al-Mannai, Vice President for Student Affairs at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, in the presence of executive leadership from both institutions.

Connecting Research with Community Needs

Through this partnership, The Center for Wellbeing will work with HBKU to connect academic research and expertise with the needs and priorities of the community.

The collaboration will support joint research, professional development, and specialized training, while creating opportunities for researchers, professionals, students, and other members of both institutions to exchange knowledge and participate in shared initiatives.

Supporting the Wellbeing Observatory

A key focus of the partnership will be the collection and analysis of data related to wellbeing and quality-of-life indicators.

This work will contribute to developing a scientific database for The Center’s Wellbeing Observatory, strengthening its capacity to identify community trends and needs and support the development of evidence-informed initiatives and programmes.

Bridging Research and Practice

The collaboration reflects The Center for Wellbeing’s commitment to bridging research and practice.

By bringing together data, academic knowledge, professional expertise, and community experience, the partnership aims to generate locally relevant evidence that can contribute to policies, programmes, and initiatives designed to enhance wellbeing and quality of life in Qatar.

Commenting on the partnership, Prof. Al Emadi said:

“This agreement with Hamad Bin Khalifa University marks a milestone in the journey of The Center for Wellbeing. We are confident that our efforts and the alignment of visions between our two institutions will serve as a cornerstone for advancing sustainability, benefiting our society while opening new horizons for integration, innovation, and collaboration.”

Dr. Al-Mannai stated:

She added:

Under the MoU, The Center for Wellbeing and HBKU will collaborate on projects and studies addressing wellbeing, social cohesion, and community values.
