The value of sport begins before the starting line and endures beyond the final whistle. Respect for the rules, equal opportunities, and the pursuit of achievement with integrity give winning a deeper meaning, one that values the journey as much as the result. This is where clean sport and wellbeing meet: in caring for people, safeguarding their health and dignity, and nurturing their ability to advance responsibly within their communities.
In this spirit, The Center for Wellbeing and the Qatar Anti-Doping Agency (QADA) held a coordination meeting to explore a framework for cooperation between the two organizations. The meeting was attended by H.E. Sheikha Dr. Hessa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Founder and Chairperson of The Center for Wellbeing.
The connection between these two fields opens a space to reflect on the sporting experience in all its dimensions: how athletes pursue excellence, what guides their choices, and how they safeguard their health and physical wellbeing amid the pressures of competition. The environment that nurtures these athletes, the values they learn, and the trust that surrounds them all help shape their experience of sport.
Exploring cooperation between our Center and QADA offers an opportunity to consider joint work that reflects this connection between wellbeing and sporting integrity, bringing values of ambition and fitness into harmony with physical balance, the prevention of harm, and responsibility, while making respect for oneself and others part of the sincere pursuit of excellence and good sportsmanship.
