About This Event

Technological innovation gains deeper meaning through its impact on people’s lives: expanding opportunities to learn and work, and supporting their ability to participate and thrive.

With this perspective, the Center for Wellbeing attended Google Cloud Summit Doha 2026, held at the Qatar National Convention Centre on 22 September 2026. The event brought together technology experts, business leaders and developers to explore advances in artificial intelligence, cloud computing and digital transformation.

Marking three years since the launch of Google Cloud’s Doha region, the summit explored how emerging technologies are reshaping organizations and services. Its program addressed cybersecurity, data and application development, alongside practical examples of AI adoption across different sectors.

Human capacity building featured prominently among the announcements. Google Cloud and Qatar Digital Academy launched a National Skilling Program aimed at providing more than 50,000 learning opportunities by 2030. The summit also marked the launch of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s Innovation Lab, supporting the development and testing of AI applications.

For the Center, this attendance offered an opportunity to consider innovation through the lens of people and their wellbeing. At the heart of this perspective is a question: how can technological possibilities translate into wider access to learning, more responsive services, and environments that support the wellbeing of individuals and communities?
